At Essie Hicks & Associates, we believe every body tells a story — of movement, endurance, and renewal. Our work centers on restoring balance through thoughtful, skilled touch that blends clinical precision with holistic insight.

Founded by Essie Hicks, MPA, LMT, C-MLDT, our practice grew from decades of experience in sports massage, pain relief, and rehabilitation. Essie’s expertise in myofascial release, nuromuscular therapy, Structural Integration, , and manual lymphatic drainage provides a strong anatomical foundation, while her training in craniosacral therapy, herbology, and aromatherapy adds depth and dimension to every session.

Essie first arrived in Yelm in 1992 to practice energy work and herbology as an apprentice. That experience led to strong ties with the region.

Essie first founded her practice in Yelm, WA, in 1999 while working her way through massage school at the old Cattleman’s restaurant as a cook and later as a security officer at the Red Wind Casino for the Nisqually Tribe. The small town love and support she received from her neighbors and first patients who were veterans, rodeo athletes, and tribal elders, shaped her education surrounding pain and how to address it.
